Client Experience
“My MVA occurred in 7/20/22 with immediate whiplash symptoms and pain increasing in severity for several months following. Current diagnosis is compressions at C1 C2, and C3, bulging disc at C5, and a yet unspecified marble made of lava that I can feel around T2. I had been postponing acupuncture but when my pain level hit 10 and I very seriously contemplated taking my own life because I saw no way out I made the decision to get a ride from Charlotte because I was unable to drive myself and book an emergency treatment with Anisha Desai. It is now approximately 36 hours post my initial treatment and my pain level is at level 2. My mobility is at 80%. Haven't felt this good since before my accident and I have scheduled several follow-ups in the next month. Thank you Anisha, you've given me my life back and I am forever grateful!!”
-STEVE LANGILOTTI
“I approached Anisha for help while in the depths of grief and stress induced illness; I'm so thankful I did.
Anisha is empathetic, sincere, supportive and encouraging; merely being in her presence gives me a deep level of calmness and balance. Anisha offers a partnership, providing the tools to empower me on my personal journey, towards wellness and a more balanced, peaceful state of mind. Finding a balance mentally is critical to finding a balance physically.
After just one acupuncture session with Anisha, I felt my mind and body calm down significantly, from a two year period of being absorbed in an intense fight/flight mode, battling PTSD and shock, to a more balanced parasympathetic state, which has had an incredibly positive influence on my physical health, even with just 4 sessions behind us. I feel supported, and understood, both from a physical and emotional perspective, which of course work hand-in-hand.
I look forward to my progression, aided by Anisha, and I'm comforted to know that I am being guided and accompanied by her during my path of recovery. Sometimes life hurts us so badly, we just can't rise up alone. Thank you, Anisha, for sharing your gift with me and so many others.“

Private Acupuncture
In-depth, one-on-one treatment
First appointments are 1.5-2 hours. Follow-ups are 1 hour.
During a private session you’ll share your health concerns in more detail, and receive an individualized and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment based on the information you provide and through a Qi pulse diagnosis.
During your session, I will stay in the room offering Qi healing to amplify and facilitate the transformation process.
Qi healing may be seen as acupuncture without needles, performing the same function through a different method: initiating detoxification, increasing vitality and releasing physical, mental and emotional stresses. It is a non-invasive, all natural, gentle and truly sustainable approach to getting healthy, balancing Qi strength and flow.
For acupuncture to be most effective in healing specific and chronic health concerns, it’s recommended to receive 5-7 weekly sessions, slowly spacing them out to bi-weekly, monthly and seasonal tune-ups.

Join Anisha’s seasonal mini retreats for a group acupuncture experience
Affordable, high-quality acupuncture treatment, yoga and sound healing in a group setting
A group setting has benefits beyond affordability. You will receive individualized treatment in a room with others, which raises the Qi (life force energy) dynamic and healing is enhanced for everyone, allowing friends and family to come together in a shared, restorative experience. Mini Retreats.
Points are selected from the energetic gateways on the limbs, head and ears, enabling patients to remain fully clothed during treatment. Once the needles are in you’ll have an extended 30-40 minutes of relaxation with soft music to enhance the experience as you rest. This is the way that acupuncture is traditionally done in Asia.
FAQs
What exactly is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a 4,000 year old system of medicine used to treat illness, relieve pain and stress, support well being and bring emotional balance.
The Ancient Chinese mapped the flow of Qi or vital energy through our bodies along specific pathways called meridians. When our Qi is full and flowing, we experience health. When our Qi is obstructed or imbalanced, illness and pain can occur. The symptoms we experience are signals that we need to take measures to restore balance. Adjusting energy flow by stimulating particular points along the acupuncture meridians does just that.
Does acupuncture hurt?
If you’re worried about acupuncture being like getting a shot from the doctor’s office,
have no fear! Getting acupuncture is nothing like that (even I dislike getting shots!). Acupuncture needles are hair-thin and are inserted into the skin so quickly that most people don’t even notice the needle going in. Some people are more sensitive than
others and may feel the needles, but it is rarely painful. It is normal to feel sensations around the needles such as heaviness, tingling, numbness, warmth or movement.
Once the needles are in, the most common sensation to feel is relaxation. Even if you are nervous to receive acupuncture, it won't take long for nerves to give way to enjoyment.
Is acupuncture safe?
All acupuncture needles are sterile and single-use. I have gone through 4 years of
Master’s level schooling, including extensive clinical training and a course in clean needle technique and am well versed in administering acupuncture safely. We NEVER reuse needles. Sterile needles get placed at specific points along the body, the needles are removed from the body when treatment is done and placed directly into an approved biomedical waste sharps container. That’s it. There is little to no risk of infection when the needles are sterile and you are with a fully trained, certified and licensed acupuncturist.
Every once in a while, a small bruise may appear around the site of an acupuncture needle, but this is always temporary and goes away within a few days. When compared to the list of side effects for surgical procedures/pharmaceutical drugs, acupuncture is very low risk.
